The signage indicates the labyrinth location within a larger garden area.
The labyrinth at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church was designed to give additional meaning to the existing Memorial Garden. Based on a labyrinth from Chartres Cathedral, the circular pattern fit within an existing lawn circle edged by a flagstone walk and stone memorial wall. The eleven circuit pattern appears to be symmetrical, but it has unexpected twists and turns, and long unbroken sweeps, similar to life’s journey.
